Rendez – Terms of Service

Welcome to Rendez (“Rendez”, “we”, “us”, “our”).

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of our mobile application, website and related services (collectively, the “Service”).

By creating an account, accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

• You must be at least 18 years old to use Rendez.
• By using the Service, you represent that you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms in your jurisdiction.

2. Our Service

Rendez is a social and dating platform that enables users to:

• Create and host offline invitations (e.g., coffee, events, meetups);
• Apply to join invitations created by other users;
• Match with others and exchange messages through an in-app chat.

We may update, modify or discontinue parts of the Service at any time, with or without notice.

3. Your Account

• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and all activities that occur under your account.
• You agree to provide accurate and up-to-date information, including your age, gender and location.
• We may suspend or terminate your account if we believe you have violated these Terms.

4. User Conduct

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for illegal, harmful or fraudulent purposes;
• Harass, threaten, abuse or impersonate others;
• Post or share content that is hateful, violent, discriminatory, sexually explicit or inappropriate;
• Share private or confidential information of others without consent;
• Use bots, scripts or automated tools to access or interact with the Service;
• Reverse engineer, disrupt or interfere with the functionality of the Service.

You are solely responsible for your interactions with other users, online and offline. Rendez does not conduct background checks and does not guarantee the conduct or intentions of any user.

We strongly recommend following basic safety practices when meeting others in person.

5. Content You Share

You may upload text, photos, invitations, messages and other materials (“User Content”).

• You retain ownership of your User Content.
• By posting User Content, you grant Rendez a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, transferable, sublicensable license to use, store, reproduce, modify and display your content for the purpose of operating and improving the Service.

You represent that you have all necessary rights to the User Content you share and that it does not violate laws or third-party rights.

6. In-App Purchases & Fees

Rendez may offer optional paid features (e.g., boosts or premium visibility).

• All prices and terms will be shown in the app at the time of purchase.
• Except where required by law, purchases are generally non-refundable.
• Payments are processed by third parties (Apple, Google or other payment processors). We do not store full payment card information.

7. Third-Party Services

The Service may integrate with third-party services, including but not limited to:

• Firebase (authentication, database, hosting, crash reporting);
• Google or Apple sign-in;
• Analytics tools and SDKs.

Your use of such services may be subject to their own terms and policies.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.

• We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation;
• We do not guarantee the accuracy or reliability of any content obtained through the Service;
• We do not guarantee outcomes from matches, meetings or interactions with other users.

You use Rendez at your own risk.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Rendez and its founders, employees and partners are not liable for:

• Indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages;
• Loss of data, profits, opportunities or reputation;
• Damages arising from interactions or meetings with other users, online or offline.

If liability cannot be excluded by law, our total liability will be limited to the amount you paid in the last 12 months (if any).

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access at any time if we reasonably believe you violated these Terms or pose a risk to others.

You may delete your account at any time within the app or by contacting us.

Certain sections (e.g., User Content, Liability, Governing Law) will survive termination.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Canada and, where applicable, the province of Quebec, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date indicates the most recent version.

If changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to notify you. Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
